The Wickerman Festival's been a real favorite of mine for a few years now - perfect family festival with a proper growl to the late night entertainment (the Scots sure know how to party!), so it was a real thrill to be asked to host one of the main Big Tops this year, for not one, but TWO evenings of madness. We're pulling out all the stops on this one so expect a huge production with a big blackout bigtop, huge light & laser rigs, a massive 4-screen AV set up with bespoke visuals and a Funktion1 soundsystem. The lineup includes Zodiac Cartel, Calvertron, Vandal, The Loops of Fury, Mike Hulme, Rektchordz and Resistance plus our friends Simon Jackson & DJ Believe. Other artists playing include Utah Jazz, Fenech Solar, Charlatans, Teenage Fanclub, the Futureheads and 808 State. After a month off reeling from the Re:Vamped project and the total dominance of the Beatport charts (!), there is new music coming from Elite Force with the 'Law of Life' remixes featuring cracking versions from Nom de Strip, Zodiac Cartel, Mike Hulme, The Loops of Fury and Access Denied as we as a bonu track 'Fear The Pain' from Elite Force. Public promos can we found in the run up to the release of Part One of these mixes (21st June Pre-Release at Beatport) on the Soundcloud page. We also have a massive double-headed single from The Loops of Fury which is set to smash the summer floors, closely followed by new signing Felix Luker, who's jackin' electro-techno tune 'Mechanical' is set for anthem status. Both Mike Hulme and Zodiac Cartel finish up a busy summer schedule with cracking singles, more news of which to follow in the next newsletter.

Jamie recently got back from Budapest playing the bi-monthly U&A clubnight at CorvinTeto to another packed house (seriously, anyone in Budapest for the weekend should definitely try to make it out to CorvinTeto ... great venue, amazing crowds). This weekend he played the Slackers Club in Brighton, and has a new single 'Lush' out on the Aux Records label this week, complete with Mike Hulme remix. He also has his own remix out right about now for Circuit Freq on their eponymous label and is currently heads down in the studio crafting new bombs for the summer season which includes top-line sets at Wickerman and Eon Festivals amongst others.

The Loops touched down in London this week for an extended stay in the UK, and are off to Nottingham this coming weekend (5th June) to play Firefly's Summer Party with a stellar line-up that includes Noob and Sebastien Leger. They've just lined up an amazing double-header for release on U&A, as well as remixing Elite Force's 'Law of Life' and recently creating all kinds of nonsense on dancefloors worldwide with their remix of Dirty Super Car on the Plump DJ's new Grand Hotel label. They will be joining Elite Force for a London debut with a one-hour live set at the U&A Boat Party as well as hitting Wickerman later in the summer. Meanwhile, for those with a penchant for the FREE stuff, they recently dropped a massive Kasabian bootleg on the unsuspecting public which we'd love your help in spreading the good word about ...

The madness of Re:Vamped is slowly subsiding now, with this hugely successful album being released across all major stores last month, including iTunes, Juno Download, TrackItDown and Amazon, whilst the remix for Datsik's 'Retreat' also scored a very creditable 3rd place in this year's Beatport Music Awards for best breaks track. Rather than kick back though, I've had my head firmly in studio mode these past few weeks with a number of new remixes, mashups and remakes firmly in the wallet for the summer season .. amongst the victims this time around are MJ Cole, The Prodigy, Moguai, Si Begg, Bassnectar, Hardfloor, Simian Mobile Disco, Slam, Bar9, Excision, Chemical Brothers, Abe Duque, Noisia, The Killers, Deadmau5 and Midnight Juggernauts all thrown into the melting pot in the quest for brand new tweakings. There's also an official remix dropping soon for Vandal's 'Big Dog' on his new Benefit Records, the first of it's kind from me for 6 months or so.
Meanwhile the Festival season is upon us and I play two sets this month at Glastonbury, the first of these on Thursday night in the Pussy Parlour for Annie Nightgale's Radio One show, and the second in my Zodiac Cartel guise in the Glade Lounge on Saturday night. This weekend I'm off to Sevilla to play in the Olympic Stadium with good friends The Crystal Method and NAPT & then it's a week's holiday before heading out to China to play Hong Kong and perennial favourite of mine, Guangzhou.

Zodiac Cartel makes a welcome return to U&A this month with his remix of Elite Force's 'Law of Life', which already got the full 5-star thumbs up from James Zabiela who was compelled to compare it to the Chemical Brothers, and following on for the huge chart successes of recent remixes for Moby and Emanuel Kosh he shortly drops another new remix, this time for A.G.Trio on the EtageNoir imprint. New signing Felix Luker recently released his debut EP on none other than Miles Dyson's label and he's now come on board with the U&A crew with a monster track 'Mechanical' which redefines 'jackin'-electro-techno' and is therefore a perfect fit for the family. Mike's been keeping a low profile since his 100mg single that was pretty much the Soundtrack for San Francisco's Love Parade last year, but he recently re-surfaced with an awesome remix for Rektchordz's 'Lush' and soon to come is a great re-working of 'The Law of Life'. Two tracks are also now complete for a second single on U&A, with 'Set The Controls' and 'Sweet Inspiration' dropping on the other side of the summer with a host of top notch remixes.
