Zoo Brazil presents his new single "Give Myself" on the Magik Muzik imprint. The vocals are performed by Ursula Rucker.
Grammy and BRIT Award nominated Zoo Brazil, also known as John Andersson, has released over 160 singles and 8 albums under various monikers. So far he also released "Please Don't Panic", the mix compilation "Songs For Clubs” and his most recent artist album "Any Moment Now". With the success of singles like “You Can Have It All” and “There Is Hope” Zoo Brazil's name rose to fame, leading to assignments for HBO series like “Nip/Tuck”, MTV and countless other programs and even the London Olympic Games. With his new album John wanted to create a timeless piece of work, based on the use of vintage synths that he played live, combined with great vocals - like the album track "Give Myself', featuring the outstanding Ursula Rucker that now sees the light of day as a single.
Vocalist Ursula Rucker collaborated with some of music's most sophisticated artists like the Silent Poets, King Britt, Josh Wink, The Roots and has honed her seductive spoken wordplay inside Philly soul, hip-hop, and new jazz. She combines social awareness with womanhood, black culture, and love for something musically alluring. A graduate of Temple's journalism school, Rucker made her poetic debut in 1994 at Philly's celebrated Zanzibar Blue. From there, she proved her smart and sultry bravado without frills. The late 90s illustrated her abrasive poetic nature inside cuts like Josh Wink's "Sixth Sense" and 4hero's "Loveless." She now adds here towering voice to "Give Myself".
"Give Myself" is a club stomper that flows all the way through, boasting a powerful arrangement of electronic dance played live instead of rigidly programmed. With Ursula Rucker's vocals on top, "Give Myself" breathes that unique, classic house atmosphere, but with an incredible state of the art drive in it. Club hit.
