Rui's thoughts on the journey here…
‘One More Day’ is a song that I have done with producer/musician Tyrrell & singer/songwriter Andrea Britton. This song comes from a long week of recordings that we did in the quiet countryside of Calla Longa in Ibiza. Those sessions represent what was the typical setting of the recording for this album, an amazing sounding room filled with the most amazing talent. This particular song actually started live on an acoustic guitar by the pool.
‘Get Me Out’ is the opening track on the album, featuring vocals from Abigail Bailey and again comes from a week of recordings. To me it represents the Pain & Anger side of the album and has a darker edge than the other tracks. It portrays the emotions that the journey of writing this album has taken me through.
‘Touch Me’ is a song I am extremely proud of and also the song that most people associate me with. With this version I wanted to celebrate the power of the song and translate the overall feeling and movement of the lyrics to an audience that may not be familiar with the original. It represents the Love side of the album and will be included as a bonus track.
