Like France's popular electronic duo Daft Punk, J786, America's first virtual solo artist, will only be seen in public in his robotic disguise. His debut single 'Rock Tonight' has already hit #4 on Billboard's Dance Club Chart and will be hitting pop radio next month. Check out the futuristic video for J786's - Rock Tonight.
Along with being America?s first virtual solo artist, J786 is also the only artist whose purpose is to raise funds and awareness for charity. Like no other artist before him, J786 is donating all proceeds from his music to free medical clinics across America. He feels healthcare is a fundamental right and wants to help make free healthcare available to everyone. Every cent that he earns will be donated to the National Association of Free Clinics
In order to expose his music to the largest group of people, J786 decided to write and sing songs that has the widest appeal worldwide. Therefore he decided to release tracks in the dance/pop genre and work with his co-writer/singer Raatree. His first CD entitled Rock Tonight will be released in April 2011 while the remixes of his song “Rock Tonight” by respected DJs like Ralphi Rosario, Dave Aude, Jason Nevins and others are already being promoted in the dance/club circuits across the nation. “Rock Tonight” has climbed from #50 to #4 on the Billboard Dance chart in just 8 weeks. Born in 1977, J786 is a Native American living near his tribal area in the Sacramento Valley in California where he maintains a very modest life style. He has been writing and playing music since the age of 16 in many different bands and projects.
While volunteering in Los Angeles soup kitchen for the homeless he met a few Hollywood celebrities who liked listening to J’s songs and encouraged him to meet someone who would be able to get him a record deal. Eventually he met a fellow Native American and music producer Ed Silvercloud and after a few weeks they became close friends. This lead into J786 signing the contract with the newly formed indie label Starbugs Records.
After several meetings with J786, the chairman of the Starbugs Records, Dilip Sontakey, agreed to develop J786 as a virtual artist who will donate 100% of his incomes from his music to the cause that J786 believes in, helping Free Clinics raise funds to aid children, women, seniors, and others who cannot afford high priced medical insurance.
In the near term J786 will promote his album and concentrate on writing more songs for the next CD. He will also continue helping homeless and jobless folks around Los Angeles and San Francisco and other cities in between.
