Over the weekend, in a small town in the middle of Denmark, Kylie Minogue presented her biggest and - if the audience's comments are anything to go by - best show ever! Over 10,000 elated Kylie fans raised the roof with a standing ovation at the end of Kylie's two hour pop spectacular - Aphrodite-Les Folies at the Multi Arena.
When Kylie first appeared on stage in a giant golden clam shell, which appropriately floated up from the depths, the crowd were spellbound .. entranced .. taken into another world. There were enormous water fountains, flying angels, a chariot .. even a pool party!
From the foot stomping dance anthems to an emotional ballad her voice was in fine form, reaching impossible heights effortlessly. Kylie ended the show be recreating the famous scene from her “All The Lovers” video with a wedding cake of dancers rising from a pool which suddenly appeared in the middle of the arena!
The concert, spread over seven spectacular acts, saw Kylie performing in no less than eight bespoke Dolce & Gabbana creations.
Fans flew in from all over the world, from as far away as Hong Kong, from Russia, from the Middle East, from Adelaide in Australia they flocked to Denmark to be present at opening night. This was just the first night of an extensive world tour that will see the Aphrodite juggernaut travel from one end of Europe to the other, to Japan, Canada, USA, Mexico, New Zealand, Australia, South East Asia and beyond, not ending until well into 2011.
Check out an amazing montage of visuals and songs from her tour kickoff, as well as some teaser footage from Dolce & Gabbana of Kylie being fitted for some of her tour outfits.
As anyone who attended any of the previous tours can attest – a Kylie show is not to be missed. Much more than a concert – a Kylie show is indeed a spectacular!
