The Italian-born duo Alessandro & Davide Piatto, or just Piatto, have just produced a new tech house tune for the label, 303lovers, spawn of a musical design by Manuel De La Mare, Alex Kenji and Luigi Rocca. Piatto`s upcoming installment is called ‘Back To The Real Life’ and is expected to be out on the 31st of January 2013. 'The track was inspired by Corporation Of One`s record 'The Real Life', originally released in the late 80's, that put some acid house beats over the Simple Minds` 'Theme For Great Cities' song. We kept the original chords and made a new bass line using our old analog synths (in this case a Roland SH-1 and a Roland Jupiter 4).' says Alessandro, 'We started our career in the show biz in the early 80's and we're still in love with the sounds that come from this age.'
Davide, whose addiction to music starts back in the late 70`s - early 80`s, is now recognized as one the main characters of a new style of music that can be called 'Nouvelle Vague' which has influenced the traditional idea of Dance Music. His music formation N.O.I.A., which is probably the first Italian electronic band, represented the isolationism of the province. He used the first electronic machine, the analog synths, the ones that sounded just like a noisy bip but then will have become the stylistic mark of lysergic vision of acid house music. He used to play drum-machines that only Kraftwerk played at those times. Meanwhile, Alessandro is acquainted with Electronic Music and New Wave starting playing drum machines and synths.
At the beginning of the 90's Davide and Alessandro have started to collaborate together in studio and have begun to release records. Their tracks were included in Pete Tong's playlist and Ivan Smagghe`s compilation. Nowadays Piatto continue on releasing tracks and remix for several labels reaching good positions in the charts, just making 'electronic music for the dancefloor', as Piatto love to say. Usually their latest tracks are more close to what the people call Techno or Minimal. However, the guys confess they have not a preferred genre and when composing their stuff, they don't care about what's right or wrong.. but just what they like: 'We love this song because it's a 'sexy-groovy-melodic thang''
Piatto`s musical insight has been building a strong friendship between the Italian duo and the 303lovers` co-owner, Luigi Rocca, for 4 year now. Looking back at 2012, we can highlight their tech house collaborations, 'Higher Feeling' and 'Cosmic Girl', which achieved steady chart positions for months. Now it comes the time for Piatto to release a single production on the Italian label...
