BIG IN THE GAME: TARAS VAN DE VOORDE KILLS IT WITH THE GAME
Taras van de Voorde is back once again with proof that he is not
afraid to push the envelope with his production style in order to
bring the hits.
The Game, available both on vinyl and as a digital download from EC
Records, has a funky piano sound at its heart. You could almost be
transported back in time listening to the notes, were it not for the
wholly contemporary beats over which it dances.
Guy Garret, compiler of the influential 2011 Miami Buzz Chart, is
already a big fan. Not only did he call the track 'so beautiful, an
instant classic,' he also ranked it a weighty number 7 in his chart.
This is as sure a sign as any that we have something special on our
hands here.

Luciano, Deetron, Gregor Tresher and Timo Maas to Michel Cleis, Robert

The track is a follow-up to his 2010 smash 1998. This record was
legendary UK DJ Pete Tong's '#1 favourite track in 2010' and was the
year's fifth most charted track on Resident Advisor. Tong also had the
world premiere of The Game, giving the track its first foray into the
airwaves.
Also included is Santos' 909 and piano roll remix. Santos explores
the possibilities of the pianoforte further, using it to pound out a
funky bassline before tempting it up into a tasteful and attractive
ivory twinkling melody.
The digital release package also contains the Pianopella version,
laying the piano part bare for any producer wishes to put their own
twist on the track and use it for other edits.
Taras van de Voorde is a Rotterdam native who, like many of his
fellow Rotterdam dwellers, likes to do things a little differently.
His trademark long sets draw similarly lengthy queues in venues across
Europe and his unique style makes him a much sought-after producer for
remixes and his own work alike.
