Chris B debuts on Toolroom Longplayer with 'New Direction', a superb offering of chilled-out, ambient, down-tempo and vocal house. 2010 has already been a great year for Chris with his productions and remixes being highly sort after by some of the music industry's leading artists including: Rihanna, Wiley and forthcoming productions for Craig David, Tinie Tempah and MJ Cole. His live shows have seen him globetrotting to all four corners of the world supporting Basement Jaxx, Candi Staton and many more with his unique percussive grooves and melodies.
Chris kicks off proceedings with title track 'New Direction'; a real jazzy number set off beautifully by the soothing sax licks of Lady V. '24 Hours' moves the album effortlessly into some deeper house grooves accompanied by the distinctive vocal talent of Janine Small. 'In-Haus Musik' maintains the deep vibes before 'In Your Hands' instills some smoothness, with silky vocals gently sweeping over the beats. Previously featuring on Toolroom Records Ibiza 2010 Vol 1, 'Free You Soul' sees the percussive grooves take centre stage and sets you up for the truly blissful 'Shades Of Transparency'. 'Waiting For You' is a completely stripped down affair as Janine Small's vocals and a delectable piano wash over some soft beats. With down tempo melodies and gentle vocals, 'Listen To My Mind' completes a great debut album from Chris B.
