Fresh from the hugely successful Deadmau5 European tour in April/May, German house favourite Moguai is back once again to offer this latest addition to his rapidly expanding Mau5trap back catalogue. Featuring the highly sought remixing talents of Michael Woods, another lauded supporting act on the tour, and a LYVE edit of Oyster as performed by Moguai himself at the Brixton Academy, It’s fair to say this package exemplifies those feelings felt and heard on tour. With a year so far like Moguai’s, he can surely deserve to feel reminiscent about his runaway success.

These remixes of Oyster have plenty to offer; presented in a 12” package that will include both remixes. The digital package meanwhile will include an extra original mix. There is a varied sprinkling of flavor here for all fans of electronic music, a major part of the German warrior’s mass appeal. For those unfamiliar with the track, Oyster is a progressive house stomper, with bomb heavy 4-4 beats and a hooky, synth-soaked melody perforating through the solid structure – it has club bound, crossover smasher coursing through its veins.
On the vinyl A-side we have a typical textbook thrashing, clean cut and floor-perfected remix from Michael Woods. Placing the original hook still at centre stage, Woods transforms the blueprint of the track with some extra percussive tech-spice that arrives into a euphoric yet moody breakdown, perfectly complimented by that deliciously harmonic sub-bass. Expect fast ascensions, oodles of energy and a track destined to heavy-handedly smash every floor it can with a resounding thump and hollering battle-cry.
Side B contains the ‘Lyve at Brixton’ edit of the original, presented in a more DJ–friendly structure – it boasts a longer track time and a slightly different sonic quality, making for a surefire smash that will electrify all that cross its path.
The digital release of Oyster will be available July 19th at Beatport.com
