Safari Music - Remixes by : Mobin Master

Mobin sitting More than a DJ, Mobin Master is an artist and musician. He writes, composes and produces his own music and if that were not enough to impress the toughest of critics, this modern day maestro is also able to hold his own on the guitar, keyboard and drums. By the age of 16, he was playing bass and singing in a band at various venues in Melbourne’s east, albeit underage and in breach of licensing laws!

Inspired by the likes of Prince, James Brown, Parliament, George Clinton, Teddy Riley and a love of 90’s house music, it wasn’t long before Mobin Master started making his own music and got his first residency in the late 90’s playing at a little known venue in Melbourne called Scubar.

As far as big breaks go, it was the hit remix of Madison Avenue’s ‘Everything You Need’ that thrust Mobin into the dance music spotlight. This was followed up by club hit ‘Get Away With It’ which reached the top 5 in the ARIA Clubs Chart and became a favourite summer anthem on the party island of Mykanos. Then came his DJ series, Tribal Funk on Bamboo Music which was supported by top jocks, including Roger Sanchez, Steve Lawler, Danny Tenaglia and Carl Cox.

Undeniably, Mobin Master’s biggest break came in 2008 when he created dance music history and released one of the most celebrated house singles of all time. You know the track; it’s one of the few that we will never tire of, a house classic that has achieved cult status around the world as one of the most enduring house anthems of our time… that track is ‘Show me Love’. Show me Love spent a record 52 weeks in the charts and remains the longest charting single in ARIA club chart history, earning Mobin an ARIA nomination and the reputation as one of Australia’s greatest dance music exports.

Over the New Year period of 2009, Mobin reached the number 1 position on Beatport with his remix of ‘Reach Out’ by Sweet Mercy and in 2010, Mobin’s domination of the charts continues with remixes ‘Get Lucky’ scoring on the ARIA club charts and ‘Don’t Stop Moving’ making moves in the ARIA singles chart.

Celebrated for his energetic live performances and the white Keytar that has become his trademark, distinguishing him from his peers, Mobin has entertained audiences the world-over performing in front of sell-out crowds in Europe, America and South America.

On the rare occasions that Mobin is not touring or bunkered away in his studio working on the next big hit, you can be sure he’s lending his many talents to another project. In 2007, Mobin founded the Safari Music Label and since then he has been supporting both established and emerging artists who share his love of house music. The label has featured the work of artists such as Noir and Joe K of Building Records (Brazil) fame and in 2010 the first Safari Music Volume 1 compilation was released.

Amazingly in between the release of Safari Music Volume 1 and a hectic schedule that has included a tour of Brazil and the Australian summer festival circuit, Mobin has emerged in 2010 ready to raise the stakes even higher with the release of his debut solo artist album ‘Get Lucky’. The release of Get Lucky coincides with a national tour of all capital and some regional cities in Australia, as well as an extensive tour of Brazil with singer Karina Chavez. Meanwhile, there is talk of a highly anticipated second album in the pipeline as Mobin heads back into the studio armed with all new and original, lyric driven material.
